Public Schools.
The Mentor's primary role and responsibility to the SEAT Researcher is to provide guidance and encouragement. The Mentors
should provide guidance to ASSIST the SEAT Participants:
- Find information relevant to their research topic of interest.
- Find answers to questions encountered during the life cycle of their research
- Understand the various steps of the Scientific Method.
- Ensure that the experimentation defined by their Research Plan is done within local, state, and federal laws and the International Science Fair Rules Committee.
- Ensure that the appropriate forms are completed by all involved in approving or supervising any part of the experiment; and for entry in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.
- Identify potential risks relative to safety, difficulty and validity of their research, and ways to mitigate or eliminate.
